Day 108 He Is Risen | 1 Corinthians 15:12-17

Day 108 He Is Risen | 1 Corinthians 15:12-17

Send us a text

The resurrection of Jesus Christ isn't just a historical event—it's the very foundation of our faith and hope. Through a powerful examination of 1 Corinthians 15:12-17, we confront the critical question Paul posed to the early church: what if Christ hasn't been raised?

Paul's logical reasoning is both simple and profound. Without the resurrection, our preaching would be meaningless, our faith would be futile, and most devastatingly, we would remain trapped in our sins. But the glorious truth is that Christ did rise! This reality changes everything about how we understand forgiveness and salvation.

Using a relatable analogy of an unexplained "Road Closed" sign that leaves drivers confused and uncertain, we explore how God doesn't leave us wondering about the resurrection's significance. While the angel at the tomb simply declared, "He is risen" without explanation, Scripture fills in the details about why this matters so personally for each of us. Because Jesus conquered death, our sins aren't just temporarily hidden—they're completely gone, wiped clean forever.

Take a moment today to let this transformative truth sink deep into your heart. Your sins are fully forgiven because Jesus lives! Join us as we celebrate this profound reality and discover how embracing the resurrection can bring fresh hope and purpose to your daily life. Subscribe to Wisdom for the Day for more daily spiritual insights that will strengthen your faith and guide you through life's challenges.

Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance.

00:00:07.394 --> 00:00:08.762
I'm Rick.

00:00:08.762 --> 00:00:13.653
Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.

00:00:13.653 --> 00:00:19.484
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.

00:00:19.484 --> 00:00:21.070
Let's get started.

00:00:21.070 --> 00:00:25.289
Today is Day 108.

00:00:25.289 --> 00:00:26.333
Today is day 108.

00:00:26.353 --> 00:00:34.014
He is risen From 1 Corinthians, chapter 15, verses 12 through 17 from the New Living Translation.

00:00:34.014 --> 00:00:43.368
But tell me this since we preach that Christ rose from the dead, why are some of you saying there will be no resurrection of the dead?

00:00:43.368 --> 00:00:48.731
For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either.

00:00:48.731 --> 00:00:55.612
And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless and your faith is useless.

00:00:55.612 --> 00:00:59.345
And we apostles would all be lying about God.

00:00:59.345 --> 00:01:03.713
For we've said that God raised Christ from the grave.

00:01:03.713 --> 00:01:05.805
But that can't be true.

00:01:05.805 --> 00:01:11.859
If there's no resurrection of the dead, and if there's no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised.

00:01:11.859 --> 00:01:17.608
And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins.

00:01:19.921 --> 00:01:26.293
Now, recently, our street was unexpectedly blocked by a sign that said Road Closed.

00:01:26.293 --> 00:01:28.346
It gave no explanation.

00:01:28.346 --> 00:01:34.524
Later we learned that it was just a sewer line repair and would only last a day, but without any details.

00:01:34.524 --> 00:01:36.471
It left us confused and uncertain.

00:01:36.471 --> 00:01:45.709
The announcement at Jesus' tomb was kind of like that the angel declared he has risen, but didn't explain how or what exactly that meant.

00:01:45.709 --> 00:01:48.864
Thankfully, god's word doesn't leave us there.

00:01:49.447 --> 00:01:55.024
The apostle Paul clearly explains why Jesus' resurrection matters so much to each of us.

00:01:55.024 --> 00:02:05.820
In 1 Corinthians 15, paul points out that if Jesus didn't rise from the dead, everything we believe would be worthless and we would still be trapped in our sins.

00:02:05.820 --> 00:02:10.628
But the amazing news is that Jesus truly did rise again.

00:02:10.628 --> 00:02:18.906
Because of his resurrection, our sins aren't just hidden or forgotten.

00:02:18.906 --> 00:02:23.675
They're completely gone, wiped clean forever.

00:02:23.675 --> 00:02:27.015
They're completely gone, wiped clean forever.

00:02:27.015 --> 00:02:31.348
This is the good news Christ is risen and your sins are fully forgiven.

00:02:31.348 --> 00:02:33.764
Let that truth sink in.

00:02:33.764 --> 00:02:34.085
Today.

00:02:34.085 --> 00:02:39.570
I want you to take a moment to celebrate what this means for you personally.

00:02:39.570 --> 00:02:42.705
Your sins are gone because Jesus lives.

00:02:42.705 --> 00:02:44.819
Pray with me.

00:02:44.819 --> 00:02:54.752
Risen Savior, thank you for taking away my sins through your resurrection, even if I can't fully grasp how it happened.

00:02:54.752 --> 00:02:59.659
Help me live each day trusting your amazing grace, amen.

00:02:59.659 --> 00:03:08.984
Well, that's all for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.
