00:00:01.582 --> 00:00:06.413
Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance.
00:00:06.413 --> 00:00:07.782
I'm Rick.
00:00:07.782 --> 00:00:12.673
Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.
00:00:12.673 --> 00:00:18.484
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.
00:00:18.484 --> 00:00:20.089
Let's get started.
00:00:20.089 --> 00:00:24.146
Today is Day 15.
00:00:25.129 --> 00:00:37.304
A new love From the Gospel of John, chapter 13, verse 34, from the New Living Translation, a new command I give you Love one another.
00:00:37.304 --> 00:00:41.308
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
00:00:41.308 --> 00:00:49.773
It might seem strange to call love something new, because our world is filled with talk of love.
00:00:49.773 --> 00:00:51.054
It's everywhere.
00:00:51.054 --> 00:00:56.212
It's in books, songs, movies, the old myths and fairy tales.
00:00:56.212 --> 00:01:05.772
Love seems like anything but new, but the kind of love that we often see in this world is a love that eventually wears out.
00:01:05.772 --> 00:01:12.569
Friendships fall apart, arguments and indifference tear marriages down.
00:01:12.569 --> 00:01:15.487
Families are divided by quarrels.
00:01:15.487 --> 00:01:20.108
Now maybe you're experiencing the reality of a love that has grown tired.
00:01:20.108 --> 00:01:21.531
As you listen to me right now.
00:01:23.021 --> 00:01:28.662
When Jesus came into the world, he came to show us the full depth of God's love.
00:01:28.662 --> 00:01:40.311
His disciples, eager to grab the best seats at the meal with Jesus, overlooked the simple act of washing their feet, a task meant for servants.
00:01:40.311 --> 00:01:45.590
They thought it was beneath them, but it wasn't beneath the Son of God.
00:01:45.590 --> 00:01:51.489
God's love can endure all of our insults, rebellion and sin.
00:01:51.489 --> 00:01:53.933
He doesn't turn away from us.
00:01:53.933 --> 00:01:57.343
Instead, he went to the cross for us.
00:01:57.343 --> 00:02:03.712
Jesus not only cleanses our souls, but he washes away our guilt and shame.
00:02:03.712 --> 00:02:06.736
Through him, we're made clean.
00:02:06.736 --> 00:02:16.610
God has poured out his love for us in a new way, a love that never gives up, and he empowers us to share that love with others.
00:02:16.610 --> 00:02:20.725
Have you experienced the enduring love of God?
00:02:20.725 --> 00:02:23.111
Pray with me.
00:02:23.111 --> 00:02:28.512
Thank you, lord Jesus, for showing us love in a new way.
00:02:28.512 --> 00:02:32.705
Thank you for dying so that we can be cleansed from sin.
00:02:32.705 --> 00:02:39.484
Help us to love others just like you have loved us, amen.
00:02:39.484 --> 00:02:46.354
Well, that's all for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.
