00:00:01.582 --> 00:00:06.413
Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance.

00:00:06.413 --> 00:00:07.782
I'm Rick.

00:00:07.782 --> 00:00:12.673
Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.

00:00:12.673 --> 00:00:18.484
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.

00:00:18.484 --> 00:00:20.089
Let's get started.

00:00:20.089 --> 00:00:26.292
Today is Day 18, a new new hope.

00:00:27.541 --> 00:00:40.612
Reading from 1 Peter 1, verse 3 from the New Living Translation he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

00:00:40.612 --> 00:00:50.360
Let me ask you something Are you feeling without hope?

00:00:50.360 --> 00:00:52.524
It's easy to lose hope in struggles of everyday life.

00:00:52.524 --> 00:01:09.155
Months of unemployment Been there, years of battling illness Kind of been there, constant family arguments Been there, or a long prison sentence can drain our hope and leave us feeling lost about the future.

00:01:10.400 --> 00:01:13.590
In the face of these hardships, the Apostle Peter speaks of hope.

00:01:13.590 --> 00:01:19.549
Jesus has risen from the dead, while this doesn't mean that all of our suffering will vanish.

00:01:19.549 --> 00:01:26.150
Just as Jesus' sufferings led to resurrection, so too will our trials be followed by glory.

00:01:26.150 --> 00:01:30.486
Through Jesus, god has given believers a living hope.

00:01:30.486 --> 00:01:38.629
Now we often place our hope in things that can't sustain us, like a new job, more education or even a new year.

00:01:38.629 --> 00:01:41.415
But Jesus isn't lifeless.

00:01:41.415 --> 00:01:53.093
He is alive and in Him we have an inheritance and a constant source of strength, because our hope comes from someone who's conquered death and is eternally alive.

00:01:53.093 --> 00:01:58.772
The best news of all is that God has given us true hope.

00:01:58.772 --> 00:02:02.290
We're not trapped by our sins or circumstances.

00:02:02.290 --> 00:02:09.245
Jesus has the power to take our dying expectations and replace them with a living, vibrant hope.

00:02:10.727 --> 00:02:12.711
Are you living with hope in Christ?

00:02:12.711 --> 00:02:15.260
Through his strength, you can.

00:02:15.260 --> 00:02:22.493
Let's pray, living Father, god, we praise you for the gift of hope.

00:02:22.493 --> 00:02:32.587
May the life of the risen Christ inspire us to hope and inspire us to confidence today, even in the middle of our struggles.

00:02:32.587 --> 00:02:36.370
In Jesus' precious name, I pray Amen.

00:02:36.370 --> 00:02:43.949
Well, that's all for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.
