Reading from 2 Corinthians, chapter 12, verse 7 from the New Living Translation To keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh.

Now, no one enjoys unpleasant surprises or struggles, but in Christ we find the strength to face them.

The Apostle Paul experienced spiritual highs, including visions of heaven, but he also endured earthly struggles that wouldn't go away.

Now we don't know exactly what his thorn in the flesh was, but Paul believed he could serve God better without it.
