00:00:13.651 --> 00:00:19.466
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.
00:00:19.466 --> 00:00:21.065
Let's get started.
00:00:21.065 --> 00:00:26.646
Today is Day 21,.
00:00:26.646 --> 00:00:28.431
A new song.
00:00:28.431 --> 00:00:41.393
Reading from Psalms, chapter 40, verse 3 from the New Living Translation, he put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
00:00:43.481 --> 00:00:44.021
Music.
00:00:44.021 --> 00:00:47.908
Music holds a strong influence in our lives.
00:00:47.908 --> 00:00:54.469
Many of us have a favorite band or songs and we can easily recite the lyrics from memory.
00:00:54.469 --> 00:01:02.008
Even older Christians often remember songs that they learned as children, sometimes in another language.
00:01:02.008 --> 00:01:08.825
Rhythm and rhyme they have a way of sticking with us, leaving lasting impressions on our minds.
00:01:10.206 --> 00:01:18.409
Creation once echoed with the sound of God's glory, but now it feels out of tune as we navigate the mud and mire of life.
00:01:18.409 --> 00:01:27.162
We can all list our troubles and, if we're honest, we know how powerfully sin has left its mark on our hearts and our minds.
00:01:27.162 --> 00:01:32.272
But this is not the end of humanity's song.
00:01:32.272 --> 00:01:38.805
The psalmist has heard a different melody that drowns out the discord of sin and brokenness.
00:01:38.805 --> 00:01:51.813
God has provided redemption, giving his people a firm place to stand and he rewards those who trust in him and is eager to help those who turn to him.
00:01:51.813 --> 00:01:57.871
This psalm that we read, or that you're reading, is a song of grace.
00:01:57.871 --> 00:02:07.581
Today we hear that same song offered to all who come to God through Jesus Christ, seeking salvation and deliverance from sin.
00:02:07.581 --> 00:02:12.831
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire.
00:02:12.831 --> 00:02:17.683
He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
00:02:17.683 --> 00:02:23.131
Let's let this new song leave an impression on our minds.
00:02:23.131 --> 00:02:26.955
Jesus can save me.
00:02:26.955 --> 00:02:30.388
Can you sing that salvation song?
00:02:30.388 --> 00:02:32.544
Let's pray.
00:02:32.544 --> 00:02:43.750
Father God, thank you for your words and your music that express your greatest gift, the gift of salvation through Christ Jesus.
00:02:43.750 --> 00:02:48.170
Put the song of salvation in our mouths as well.
00:02:48.170 --> 00:02:52.411
In Jesus' precious name, we pray Amen.
00:02:52.411 --> 00:02:59.430
Well, that's all for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.
