Day 22 A New Life | Romans 6:4

Day 22  A New Life | Romans 6:4

Send us a text

Standing at the grave of a loved one, the weight of death can feel insurmountable. Yet, what if I told you that even in the shadow of the grave, there is a promise of hope and new beginnings? Today, we confront the profound reality of death and the transformative power of a life in Christ. Reflecting on Romans 6:4, we explore how Jesus's resurrection separates us from sin and ushers in a promise of eternal life, encouraging us to live for God right now. Baptism is not just a ritual but a powerful symbol of our transition from death to a life filled with God's glory.

Join me, Rick, on Wisdom for the Day, as we engage in a heartfelt conversation about loss, resurrection, and liberation from the grip of sin and death. Together, we'll seek strength and hope through prayer, allowing God's Word to guide us through life's challenges with faith and wisdom. With every episode, including today's Day 22, we aim to inspire you to embrace each day with renewed purpose. Let this be a time of spiritual refreshment, anchoring your soul in the hope and freedom that faith provides. Remember to tune in tomorrow as we continue to uncover the beauty of a new life in Christ.

00:00:02.564 --> 00:00:07.394
Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance.

00:00:07.394 --> 00:00:08.762
I'm Rick.

00:00:08.762 --> 00:00:13.653
Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.

00:00:13.653 --> 00:00:19.484
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.

00:00:19.484 --> 00:00:21.070
Let's get started.

00:00:21.070 --> 00:00:27.591
Today is Day 22, a new life.

00:00:27.591 --> 00:00:41.633
Reading from Romans, chapter 6, verse 4 from the New Living Translation Just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

00:00:44.000 --> 00:00:49.514
You know, standing at the grave of a loved one, the weight of death feels overwhelming.

00:00:49.514 --> 00:00:54.283
Conversations grow quiet, hopes and dreams.

00:00:54.283 --> 00:00:57.771
They collide with the harsh reality of mortality.

00:00:57.771 --> 00:01:00.847
Death separates.

00:01:00.847 --> 00:01:07.141
Anyone who's lost a close friend or a family member knows the deep ache of that separation.

00:01:07.141 --> 00:01:14.861
It leaves an empty space where that person used to be, and the pain of their absence lingers on.

00:01:14.861 --> 00:01:20.010
But even in the face of death, the gospel speaks a word of hope.

00:01:21.093 --> 00:01:31.028
Through the death of Jesus, we're separated from the power of sin in our lives, and when a believer dies, they're freed from the struggles of sin and brokenness in this world.

00:01:31.028 --> 00:01:37.626
Death, though, doesn't have the final say in God's plan.

00:01:37.626 --> 00:01:39.549
Resurrection follows death.

00:01:39.549 --> 00:01:49.414
Believers will live with Christ, and the beautiful reality is, we don't have to wait until our physical death to experience the new life that Christ offers.

00:01:49.414 --> 00:01:58.352
The power of sin is already broken in our lives and, just as Jesus lives, we begin to live for God.

00:01:58.352 --> 00:02:08.610
Baptism reminds us of this truth that we're not people left in the grip of sin and death, but those destined for a life filled with God's glory.

00:02:10.061 --> 00:02:11.186
How do you see yourself?

00:02:11.186 --> 00:02:21.822
By God's grace, the weight of sin and death is lifted, making a new way for a life in Christ, giving hope even over the grave.

00:02:21.822 --> 00:02:23.764
Pray with me, even over the grave.

00:02:23.764 --> 00:02:24.344
Pray with me.

00:02:24.344 --> 00:02:34.514
Father God, I believe that your son, jesus Christ, suffered death for my sake and rose again to give eternal life.

00:02:34.514 --> 00:02:37.657
Break the power of sin in me.

00:02:37.657 --> 00:02:44.745
Give me hope even in the face of the grave, amen.

00:02:44.745 --> 00:02:51.204
Well, that's all for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.
