Daddy’s Money
24
Anyone who steals from his father and mother
and says, “What’s wrong with that?”
is no better than a murderer.
25
Greed causes fighting;
trusting the Lord leads to prosperity.
26
Those who trust their own insight are foolish,
but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe.
Verse 24 echoes one of the Ten Commandments, reminding us of its timeless importance.
Verse 25 emphasizes that greed leads to conflict and violence, while trusting in God brings true life and peace.
Verse 26 points out that a self-made man, trusting only in himself, is a fool. True wisdom comes from recognizing that God is in control of both the world and our individual lives.
Think about this: Trusting solely in yourself is just another form of Pride, one of the seven deadly sins. Yes, God may have blessed you with many talents, but there will come a time when your own strength won’t be enough to handle life’s challenges. At that point, you will either break or learn to fully trust in the Lord with all your heart.
