Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.
00:00:19.466 --> 00:00:21.065
Let's get started.
00:00:21.065 --> 00:00:26.946
Today is Day 37, journey of Faith.
00:00:26.946 --> 00:00:35.728
From Genesis, chapter 12, verse 1, from the New Living Translation, go to the land I will show you.
00:00:35.728 --> 00:00:37.781
Now.
00:00:37.881 --> 00:00:45.710
It can be hard to understand why God sometimes changes the course of our lives, especially when everything seems to be falling in place.
00:00:45.710 --> 00:00:54.371
We might feel like we've worked it all out A career on the fast track, a new home, good schools for the kids.
00:00:54.371 --> 00:01:01.472
And then, just when everything feels settled, god shifts the game plan.
00:01:01.472 --> 00:01:06.831
Abram likely had the same thoughts when God instructed him to leave everything that he knew.
00:01:06.831 --> 00:01:14.084
Abram's father, terah, had once planned to move to Canaan, but never made it, settling in Haran.
00:01:14.084 --> 00:01:18.891
Instead, abram had lived in Haran long enough to become quite established.
00:01:18.891 --> 00:01:28.804
His business ventures thrived and the Bible tells us he became very wealthy At 75, living comfortably as a desert sheik.
00:01:28.823 --> 00:01:31.450
Abram wasn't the obvious candidate for a new adventure.
00:01:31.450 --> 00:01:38.454
To add to the challenge, he and his wife Sarai were childless and, despite their prosperity.
00:01:38.454 --> 00:01:42.828
Their future seemed uncertain, with no heirs to continue their line.
00:01:42.828 --> 00:01:48.123
Then, out of the blue, god appeared and told Abram to leave for a land that he would show him.
00:01:48.123 --> 00:01:59.231
This wasn't a call to retire in comfort, but an invitation to embark on a faith journey, a part of God's grand plan to gather his people.
00:01:59.231 --> 00:02:05.052
Abram obeyed and, as a result, he was blessed in ways that he could never have imagined.
00:02:06.060 --> 00:02:20.954
God's call for your life might take you in directions that seem impossible or unreasonable, or even frightening, but when we respond in obedience, god not only blesses us, but he also blesses those around us.
00:02:20.954 --> 00:02:28.046
Like Abraham, you might find that the path God leads you on is far greater than anything you could have planned yourself.
00:02:28.046 --> 00:02:37.627
Pray with me, lord, god, just when we have life all figured out, you shake us up with something new.
00:02:37.627 --> 00:02:41.127
Overcome our hesitation, lord.
00:02:41.127 --> 00:02:44.949
Help us to trust in your wisdom on the journey that you give us.
00:02:44.949 --> 00:02:46.412
Amen.
00:02:46.412 --> 00:02:53.872
Well, that's all for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.
