Day 51 Leap of Faith | John 5:24

Day 51 Leap of Faith | John 5:24

Send us a text

Standing at the brink of a monumental decision, what would it take for you to make a leap of faith? Join me, Rick, on Wisdom for the Day as we draw inspiration from one of history's boldest moves—Julius Caesar's crossing of the Rubicon—and connect it to our own spiritual journeys. Today, we explore how the decisive act of embracing Christ can radically transform our lives, much like Caesar's decision changed the course of history. We'll reflect on John 5:24, which reminds us that eternal life begins the moment we choose faith, not just in the distant future but right here and now.

Let's step beyond the uncertainties that hold us back and cross into a new life filled with eternal hope and promise. Together, we'll gather strength from a heartfelt prayer for divine guidance, encouraging us to fully commit to our spiritual path. Whether you're contemplating your own Rubicon or have already embarked on your faith journey, today's message aims to inspire you to embrace the abundant life that Christ offers. Don't forget to check out more episodes and join our community for a deeper connection as we continue to explore the transformative power of God's Word.

00:00:01.502 --> 00:00:06.333
Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance.

00:00:06.333 --> 00:00:07.682
I'm Rick.

00:00:07.682 --> 00:00:12.592
Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.

00:00:12.592 --> 00:00:18.403
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, ready to feel inspired.

00:00:18.403 --> 00:00:20.010
Let's get started.

00:00:20.010 --> 00:00:23.865
Today is Day 51.

00:00:23.865 --> 00:00:25.411
Cross the river.

00:00:25.411 --> 00:00:29.451
From the Gospel of John, chapter 5, verse 24.

00:00:30.280 --> 00:00:36.049
From the New Living Translation, he has crossed over from death to life.

00:00:36.049 --> 00:00:43.000
Now, about 50 years before the birth of Christ, there was a Roman general named Julius Caesar.

00:00:43.000 --> 00:00:48.363
He stood with his army near a small stream in northern Italy, the Rubicon.

00:00:48.363 --> 00:00:56.484
Though the Rubicon wasn't one of the land's major rivers, it held immense significance at that moment.

00:00:56.484 --> 00:01:03.526
It divided Gaul from Italy and Caesar had strict orders to keep his army stationed in Gaul.

00:01:03.526 --> 00:01:09.387
To defy Rome and to cross the Rubicon would be to change the course of his life forever.

00:01:10.810 --> 00:01:19.414
Ever since Caesar made it to that faithful crossing, the phrase crossing the Rubicon has come to signify making a life-altering decision.

00:01:19.414 --> 00:01:26.712
In the same way, everyone who hears the gospel of Christ faces that same decision.

00:01:26.712 --> 00:01:34.213
The good news declares that Jesus is the Savior and King and he calls us to follow him.

00:01:34.213 --> 00:01:36.906
What is our response going to be?

00:01:36.906 --> 00:01:43.612
Jesus makes it clear that a commitment to him brings heaven to earth.

00:01:43.612 --> 00:01:50.033
He says whoever hears my word and believes him, who sent me, has eternal life and will not be condemned.

00:01:50.033 --> 00:01:52.947
He has crossed over from death to life.

00:01:52.947 --> 00:01:55.466
That's John 5, 24.

00:01:55.466 --> 00:02:04.685
Jesus tells us that when we place our trust in him, eternal life doesn't just begin in the future, it starts right now.

00:02:04.685 --> 00:02:17.429
The sum of us may be standing at our own Rubicon, hesitating to fully commit to Christ, but why linger on the shore of death when we can cross over into new life in Christ?

00:02:17.429 --> 00:02:27.300
Today, the decision to follow Him is one that transforms everything, bringing us from death to life, from uncertainty to eternal hope.

00:02:27.300 --> 00:02:30.866
Pray with me, father.

00:02:30.866 --> 00:02:31.247
God.

00:02:31.247 --> 00:02:40.427
We believe Christ has come to make all the difference in our lives, kindle in us the desire to cross by faith into your eternal kingdom.

00:02:40.427 --> 00:02:44.115
In Jesus' name, we pray Amen.

00:02:44.115 --> 00:02:49.620
Kingdom.

00:02:49.620 --> 00:02:50.221
In Jesus' name, we pray Amen.

00:02:50.221 --> 00:02:52.425
Well, that's all for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.
