Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom, Ready to feel inspired.

00:00:18.324 --> 00:00:19.929
Let's get started.

00:00:19.929 --> 00:00:21.763
And now.

00:00:21.763 --> 00:00:23.408
Weekends with Lauren.

00:00:25.821 --> 00:00:31.253
Welcome to Day 54, kingly Witness, acts 25, 11-12.

00:00:31.253 --> 00:00:33.222
I appeal to Caesar.

00:00:33.222 --> 00:00:35.109
To Caesar you will go.

00:00:35.109 --> 00:00:42.232
A few years ago, vermont Television produced a popular video about an ordinary farmer named Fred Tuttle.

00:00:42.232 --> 00:00:50.415
In the story, fred heads to Washington DC to spread a little wisdom, just as he had been spreading manure over his fields for 50 years.

00:00:50.415 --> 00:00:57.926
The tale was so well-liked that in the next election the actor who played Fred actually received write-in votes for senator.

00:00:58.890 --> 00:01:03.786
There's something endearing about the idea of ordinary people bringing wisdom to the great halls of power.

00:01:03.786 --> 00:01:05.751
But can that really happen?

00:01:05.751 --> 00:01:07.986
It depends on the nature of the wisdom.

00:01:07.986 --> 00:01:13.885
When the Apostle Paul demanded an audience with Caesar, it wasn't out of a desire for personal justice.

00:01:13.885 --> 00:01:21.373
In fact, those who held him captive said that if he hadn't appealed to Caesar he could have been set free Acts 26 32.

00:01:21.373 --> 00:01:24.423
But Paul wasn't concerned with his own freedom.

00:01:24.423 --> 00:01:27.561
His appeal to Caesar was driven by a greater mission.

00:01:27.561 --> 00:01:33.322
The gospel had business in Rome and Paul would speak of Christ before the most powerful leaders of this day.

00:01:34.566 --> 00:01:43.983
Most of us may never have the chance to proclaim the gospel in the world's great centers of power, but it's worth remembering that the gospel speaks to every culture and government in the world.

00:01:43.983 --> 00:01:49.653
As Christians, we should never feel embarrassed or hesitant to speak of Christ and his claims on society.

00:01:49.653 --> 00:01:55.251
After all, every government, official and leader ultimately derives their authority from Christ himself.

00:01:55.251 --> 00:02:07.650
In small towns or great cities, in fields or government halls, the gospel has the power to transform and we, like Paul, are called to boldly bring the wisdom of Christ to whatever places we find ourselves.

00:02:07.650 --> 00:02:10.501
Won't you pray with me, lord?

00:02:10.501 --> 00:02:14.831
Forgive us when we think our faith is private and we forget that your rule extends everywhere.

00:02:14.831 --> 00:02:18.489
May the truth of the gospel give shape to a culture that honors you.

00:02:18.489 --> 00:02:19.151
Amen.

00:02:19.151 --> 00:02:21.365
That's all for now.

00:02:21.365 --> 00:02:24.066
